   CHINESE LANTERN KITE

Two nicely decorated lanterns joined together but can be flown separately.
 

 
BLACK and WHITE SWALLOW

A beautifully made and reverse decorated Beijing Swallow know as a black kettle bottom kite. The black soot from the bottom of the kettle is used to make the colouring. A very rare kite. Decorated with bats for good luck and dragons for prosperity.

   OWL

Symbol of wisdom. Silk wings and paper mashie body. This was the first kite I bought in China.
 

 UMBRELLA

The decoration shows mother and father dragons teaching their son how to puff mist and rise from the sea so he can become immortal.

 

 BUTTERFLY

Nicely dyed silk wings and bamboo frame. Made in the famous Tianjin kite factory.

 

 YELLOW BIRD

A small hand painted yellow bird kite. Silk and bamboo. Made in Weifang
